How might I collaborate to do in-depth research in experience design?

Experience Map
The work behind this design is unique, for it features a practical portion behind it. In collaboration with a classmate, we were testing out the experience of a fully able person in contrast with that of a paraplegic individual to obtain a deep understanding of how IU Indianapolis’s Campus Center dining area accommodates or fails to work for all people.
Project Description
This first draft uses a portrait orientation and a vertical line graph to convey the emotions felt during the experience. Unfortunately, this layout seemed a little complicated to explain by the time we were ready to present the concept.
Drafts
Considering the large size of the final poster, we went back and worked on a different layout, this time in a landscape orientation. This draft swaps out a line graph for circles of varying sizes and colors to convey emotion, on a timeline reading left to right for a simpler approach. We also fleshed out the icons we wanted to include initially and worked out the personas to be included on the left side.
The final design is largely the same as the second draft, but it changes the positioning of the legends to help the viewer’s eye not have to jump back to the left side anytime they need to reference them. It also changes the personas’ boxes to be more colorful and readable.
